Business record sales help fund commerce services

Beginning May 6, 2026, Utah offers copies of every filed business record through bulk sales or subscriptions, without exclusive rights. The office can charge fees for these services; the law sets no amounts. A new Commerce fund receives specified business-record fees, fees for public licensee lists, and interest earned on its money. The fund supports data services, public education, publications, business-records equipment, training, and temporary staff. It also pays for technology and maintenance for business registrations, licensing, and commercial filings.
