Wyoming limits central bank digital currency
Wyoming state agencies cannot require central bank digital currency payments for government services, taxes, or fees. They also cannot spend public money to help test, adopt, or put that currency into use. Covered currency includes digital money, tokens, or units of account issued directly by the Federal Reserve or a similar federal agency. The rules cover all state branches, agencies, departments, boards, institutions, and other state entities. They took effect upon enactment, with no exceptions or end date.
