This payment rule applies to Wyoming provider applications submitted on or after July 1, 2025. Once approved as a participating network provider, the provider must receive payment for covered, reimbursable services from the completed-application receipt date. A fully signed contract with the insurer must be in effect before those services are provided. The payment requirement does not apply where federal law overrides it.
For applications submitted on or after July 1, 2025, Wyoming health insurers must follow deadlines for checking providers' qualifications. Insurers must confirm receipt and give reviewer contact information within 7 calendar days. They must identify missing items in writing or electronically within 30 calendar days of receipt. Providers have 30 calendar days after that notice to complete the application, or the timelines restart. Insurers must finish within 60 calendar days of receipt and send a written or electronic decision. The 60-day clock pauses after an incomplete-application notice and resumes after the insurer verifies the completed submission. Approval is not guaranteed, except where existing state law requires it. The Wyoming Department of Insurance must set rules for one standard application; this rulemaking requirement took effect upon enactment. Dental and vision insurance are exempt from using that application. These requirements exclude pharmacy benefit managers and do not require insurers to break nationally recognized accreditation standards.
