Beginning July 1, 2025, Wyoming’s charter school authorizing board can approve any number of schools that meet existing charter-school requirements. For the period before that date, the law raises the cap on schools approved outside school districts from three to four. The three schools approved by the State Loan and Investment Board count toward that cap. If any of those three schools closes for any reason, the charter school authorizing board can approve a replacement. The law does not guarantee that more schools will be approved or opened.
