Beginning July 1, 2025, Wyoming drivers can apply and pay for wildlife plate eligibility through the transportation department or a county treasurer. You can apply when registering your vehicle instead of at least 30 days early. You must be required to register the vehicle in Wyoming; commercial and multipurpose vehicles you own or lease do not qualify. The eligibility fees remain $150 upfront and $50 each year, with no $50 fee in the year you pay $150. You can also make an optional donation when applying or paying the annual fee. Separate license plate fees must accompany the application. County treasurers issue the plates, which can be displayed only on the vehicle for which they were issued. Program fees and other designated revenues are tracked separately and generally go to the wildlife conservation account within the state highway fund. The transportation department must adopt implementing rules; this duty took effect immediately upon enactment.
