The law provides $20 million for a high-school building and facility project in Campbell County School District #1. The School Facilities Commission receives the money from the public school foundation program account for demolition, site preparation, and construction. If 2025 House Bill 0259 is enacted, this funding drops dollar-for-dollar by that bill's funding for the same project. Building disposal or demolition requires commission approval and must be included in the district facility plan. Funding remains available until the project is complete, when unused, uncommitted money returns to the state.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Wyoming increases school space limits used to calculate funding for the 2025–2026 school year. Both foundation-program and major-maintenance calculations can count space up to 135% of applicable state standards; otherwise, the usual 115% limits apply. The major-repair payment rate rises to 2.5% for 2025–2026 and each school year after that. The law provides $38.1 million from the public school foundation program account to the State Construction Department for these added major-maintenance payments. This money is available July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, cannot be transferred or used for another purpose, and returns to the state if unused and uncommitted.
