Landowners get fence help but share upkeep

Beginning July 1, 2025, private landowners can build a lawful boundary fence along Wyoming state land adjoining their property. The landowner must not lease that state land. The Office of State Lands and Investments pays half the actual construction cost, or the lessee pays when the land is leased. Landowners and the Office, or the lessee while the land is leased, share maintenance costs in proportion to their interests in the fence. The Board of Land Commissioners must issue rules; this requirement took effect when constitutional enactment requirements were completed.
