Beginning July 1, 2025, Wyoming’s beef-labeling rules cover beef, including veal. A United States origin label requires cattle born, raised, slaughtered, and processed in the United States. Beef with unknown origin cannot carry that claim. A Wyoming origin label requires cattle born and raised in Wyoming; both origin labels are optional. Retailers and wholesalers must clearly label cell-cultured or plant-based products that do not meet the law’s meat definition. Cell-cultured labels must say “containing cell cultured product”; plant-based labels must use terms like “vegetarian,” “vegan,” or “plant based.” Meat terms must match the law’s meat definition, and the department must issue labeling rules.
