§192a Boundaries Revised; Excluded Lands Transferred

Summary

Revises parts of the park’s north and east boundaries. The north boundary change starts at the northwest corner of the NE quarter of the NE quarter of section 33, township 7 north, range 74 west, then goes south to the southwest corner of that quarter, west to the southeast corner of the NW quarter of the NW quarter, and back north to the northeast corner of the NW quarter of the NW quarter where it meets the park’s present north line. The east boundary change starts at the northeast corner of section 3, township 3 north, range 73 west (Sixth Principal Meridian, Colorado) and then follows a series of township and section lines, the first correction line north, midsection lines, and the center line of the north branch of Fall River through listed sections in townships 4 and 5 north, ranges 72 and 73 west, until it returns to the park’s present east boundary. The following lands remain part of Rocky Mountain National Park: the NW quarter of the NE quarter and the east half of the NE quarter of the NW quarter of section 34, township 5 north, range 73 west; the parts of certain lands in township 4 north, range 73 west that lie west of the hydrographic divide forming the eastern boundary of the Cow Creek and Aspen Brook watersheds; the east half of the NE quarter of section 35; the east half of the SE quarter and the SE quarter of the NE quarter of section 26; section 24; section 25; and the east half of section 23. The following lands are removed from the park and added to the Colorado National Forest, subject to forest laws and rules: the NW quarter of the NE quarter and the NE quarter of the NW quarter of section 33, township 7 north, range 74 west; section 6, township 5 north, range 72 west; the SE quarter of the SE quarter of section 34, township 5 north, range 73 west; and sections 3, 10, and 15, township 4 north, range 73 west.
