§3231 General Authorization of Appropriations

Summary

Congress provides specific dollar amounts for many grant programs and related work for fiscal years 2025 through 2029. The money stays available until it is spent. For public works and economic development the amounts are $170,000,000 (FY2025), $195,000,000 (FY2026), $220,000,000 (FY2027), $245,000,000 (FY2028), and $270,000,000 (FY2029). For planning and administrative grants the amounts are $90,000,000, $100,000,000, $110,000,000, $120,000,000, and $130,000,000 for FY2025–FY2029. For training, research, and technical help the amounts are $25,000,000, $30,000,000, $35,000,000, $40,000,000, and $45,000,000 for those years. Economic adjustment grants (excluding certain parts) get $65,000,000, $75,000,000, $85,000,000, $95,000,000, and $105,000,000 for FY2025–FY2029. Coal communities get $75,000,000 each year 2025–2029. Nuclear host communities get $35,000,000 each year 2025–2029 and an extra $5,000,000 each year 2025–2027 for a separate item. Renewable energy gets $5,000,000 each year 2025–2029. Workforce training gets $50,000,000 each year 2025–2029, and $10,000,000 of that each year must be used under subsection (c) of section 3154e. Critical Supply Chain Site Development gets $20,000,000 each year 2025–2029. Technical Assistance Liaisons get $5,000,000 each year 2025–2029. For administering the chapter, $33,377,000 is listed for FY2004 and then whatever sums are needed for later years.
