Finalized Flood Map Changes for Listed Areas

If you own property or run a business in any of the listed communities (states include AL, CT, DE, FL, IL, IN, KY, ME, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA), FEMA finalized changes to flood zones, Base (1-percent annual chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs), Special Flood Hazard Area boundaries, and regulatory floodways. These LOMRs were finalized on the dates shown in the table (for example between Oct. 30, 2025 and Jan. 29, 2026) and can change whether you must carry flood insurance, the cost of insurance, and local building rules; the current effective community number must be used for all new policies and renewals.

Community NFIP Compliance Requirement

The notice says each community with a finalized LOMR must adopt, or show evidence it already has, the floodplain management measures required by 44 CFR 60.3 in order to remain qualified for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Local officials listed in the table are expected to meet those regulatory measures so the community can continue NFIP participation.
