Disapprove BLM plan for Alaska oil reserve

This joint resolution would use the Congressional Review Act to cancel a Bureau of Land Management decision for the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. It targets the Integrated Activity Plan Record of Decision issued April 25, 2022. If enacted, that 2022 decision would have no force or effect upon enactment. A GAO letter dated July 24, 2025 (published July 28, 2025) says the 2022 decision counts as a rule under the CRA. This could change which approvals or limits apply to oil and gas work there, affecting developers and nearby Alaska communities.
