Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Make Marshall school a historic site

If enacted, this would create the Justice Thurgood Marshall National Historic Site as an affiliated area of the National Park System. It would include Public School 103 at 1315 Division Street in Baltimore, shown on map 962/194939 (September 2024). Beloved Community Services Corporation would keep owning and running the school and would manage the site.

Federal help for Marshall site, with limits

If enacted, the Interior Secretary could give technical help and funding through cooperative agreements for marketing, signs, interpretation, and preservation. The Secretary would need an agreement with the site's manager that sets roles. The bill would authorize "such sums as are necessary," but money would flow only if Congress later appropriates it. The Secretary could not buy the building or take full financial responsibility for running it.
