Would block utility wind and solar credits on farmland

This bill would deny federal tax credits for wind and solar on farmland when built by public utilities. It would bar the solar investment tax credit for utility-owned solar equipment on agricultural land. It would also bar the production tax credit for power from utility wind or solar on that land. These denials would apply to property placed in service after the date of enactment. "Agricultural land" would mean eligible land under the Food Security Act of 1985, and "public utility" would use the tax code definition. If passed, this could reduce tax support for utility projects on farmland and change where projects are built.
