Transparency of Migration Act

Sponsored By: Representative Malliotakis, Nicole [R-NY-11]

Introduced

Summary

Creates public, weekly reporting on individuals unlawfully present who are processed by federal immigration and health facilities. The bill would require the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services to post on their websites information about two groups: people apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) who are sent to federally run detention centers or released into the United States, and people processed at HHS facilities. The posted data must be updated weekly and include daily counts, countries of origin, ages and genders, the States where people are sent or released, and the number and types of criminal convictions, if any.
