Drones and satellites for pipeline checks
If enacted, the Secretary would have to allow drones and satellites for required surface inspections of pipeline rights-of-way. Pipeline owners and operators could use drone flights or satellite images to meet these inspection rules. Drone and satellite operators would still need to follow all existing laws and regulations. The bill does not set an effective date or provide funding.
