More flood protection near VA hospitals
If enacted, the VA would be able to give local governments money to reduce flood risk near VA medical centers. This would include flooding tied to rising sea levels. The bill does not set a funding amount or new eligibility rules. Within two years of enactment, the VA would report to Congress on each facility’s flood risk and whether more resources are needed. Communities, patients, and workers near these sites could see less flood damage over time.
