Keep Seniors Fed Act
Sponsored By: Representative Tokuda, Jill N. [D-HI-2]
Introduced
Summary
Excludes Social Security Title II benefits from the income counted for SNAP eligibility and benefits. The bill would amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 by adding income received under Title II of the Social Security Act to the list of exclusions in 7 U.S.C. 2014(d). That change means Social Security Title II payments would not be counted when determining eligibility for, or benefit levels under, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The amendments would take effect 90 days after enactment.
