More SNAP help for veterans, youth, homeless
If enacted, you would be able to keep SNAP without meeting the usual work rules if you are in one of three groups. You would qualify if you are 24 or younger and were in foster care under State responsibility on the date you turned 18 (or at a higher age the State elected under 42 U.S.C. 675(8)(B)(iii)). You would also qualify if you are homeless or if you are a veteran. These exemptions would apply to people applying for or receiving SNAP and would take effect on enactment.
