Mobile dental care for rural veterans
If enacted, the bill would create a VA pilot to give dental care to veterans in rural and highly rural areas. The pilot would start October 1, 2026 and end September 30, 2029. The VA could use vans with full dental equipment, modular or containerized mobile clinics at VA outpatient sites or rural health fairs, and tents or temporary structures at outreach events. The VA would prioritize places more than 75 miles from a VA dental clinic, areas with many veterans with unmet dental needs, and rural areas with large veteran populations. The VA must report to the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees by September 30 of 2027, 2028, and 2029 on who was served, locations, operating costs by delivery method, and whether to extend or improve the pilot.
