Summary

Designates an annual Anti-Communism Week to remember the harms of communist regimes and reaffirm commitment to liberty and human dignity. This bill would direct the President each year to issue a proclamation and encourage appropriate ceremonies and activities. It lays out findings that link communism to historical repression and mass deaths and warns against modern rhetoric described as threats to freedom. The bill would also add section 149 to chapter 1 of title 36 of the U.S. Code to formally record the observance.
