Ban on U.S. troops in Greenland
This bill would prohibit the President from deploying or assigning any member of the U.S. Armed Forces to Greenland on or after the date of enactment, unless the deployment is made in response to an explicit invitation from the Kingdom of Denmark. It would also bar the use of federal funds to deploy or assign troops to Greenland on or after that date, except when Denmark gives an explicit invitation. The effective date would be the date of enactment. The bill would not provide penalties, waivers, or a sunset date in this text. Households would likely see no direct change to taxes or benefits.
