HR7271119th Congress

Evan Anzoo Memorial Act

Sponsored By: Representative Sherman, Brad [D-CA-32]

Introduced

Summary

Require the Government Accountability Office to report deaths linked to a USAID stop work order and the shutdown of USAID. This bill would direct the Comptroller General to publish a public interim update within 180 days and a final report within one year to the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations Committees. Reports must estimate deaths in 2025 and projected deaths over the next five years caused by the initial stop work order, the loss of USAID services, or the shuttering of USAID. They must also determine whether named individuals, including Evan Anzoo and nine others, died after losing access to HIV/AIDS treatment, oxygen, malaria care, or antiretroviral drugs. The bill would be cited as the Evan Anzoo Memorial Act.
