Show full summary
- Congress and committees would receive a single annual report that gathers all statutorily required material in a machine-searchable format.
- The Bureau would have to merge multiple required reports into one annual filing. If a report cannot be consolidated within one year without losing required information, the Ambassador at Large must name the excluded report and certify it will be made available on its original due date.
- Reports that are required quarterly and any report required before the State Department spends budgeted funds would remain separate and not be consolidated.
- The bill affirms that existing requirements to provide congressional notification remain in effect.
