No-cost breast exams for Medicaid enrollees
If enacted, Medicaid would ban cost sharing for defined diagnostic and supplemental breast examinations. Exams would have to be medically necessary and follow National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines. The bill would also require Medicaid coverage of screening mammography that the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force gives an A or B rating. These changes would apply to medical assistance furnished on or after one year after the date of enactment.
