Sponsored By: Representative Castro, Joaquin [D-TX-20]
Introduced
Summary
This resolution would honor Cristina M. Rodriguez as the first Latina to lead Yale Law School. It would note her selection by a faculty search in December 2025 and that she would assume the Sol and Lillian Goldman deanship on February 1, 2026. It would summarize her background: born in San Antonio, an A.B. from Yale College, a Rhodes Scholar with a master of letters from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. It would recognize she was Yale’s first tenured Hispanic law professor, the author of more than 70 scholarly articles and essays on constitutional and immigration law, and a public servant who served in the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice and cochaired the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court. It would encourage law professors to invest in student mentorship and to honestly and diligently teach the rule of law and the United States Constitution.
