Expressing support for the recognition of October 26, 2025, as Intersex Awareness Day, and supporting the goals and ideals of Intersex Awareness Day.

This bill would recognize October 26, 2025 as Intersex Awareness Day and would promote intersex bodily autonomy. It would urge governments, schools, health providers, and aid programs to observe the day, educate the public, and prioritize intersex health and rights.

• Would call attention to intersex diversity and the risks intersex people face, noting a widely cited prevalence of about 1.7% and more than 40 identified intersex traits. It would highlight harms from irreversible infant surgeries performed without informed consent.
• Would encourage health care providers to offer culturally and clinically competent care that respects bodily autonomy and to delay nonurgent interventions until informed consent or assent is possible.
• Would urge schools and community organizations to educate about the intersex community and to connect youth and families with resources.
• Would ask federal, state, and international funders and U.S. aid programs to prioritize the health and human rights of intersex people.
