Sanctions on overseas scam compounds

Beginning 180 days after enactment, the President would be able to sanction foreign people who run or support international scam compounds. The sanctions would block their property and transactions in the United States or controlled by U.S. persons. The President would report to Congress every 180 days naming who was sanctioned. The President would be able to waive a sanction for national‑interest reasons, but would have to notify Congress 15 days before. The sanctions would not cover imports of goods and would not apply to authorized U.S. intelligence or law‑enforcement activities. Breaking these sanctions would bring penalties under federal sanctions law.
