Summary

Fast-tracked disability and Medicare access for people with metastatic breast cancer. This bill would add metastatic breast cancer to the list of conditions that can qualify someone for Social Security Disability Insurance and would adjust the statutory eligibility criteria accordingly. It would also eliminate the 24-month Medicare waiting period for people with metastatic breast cancer, with the Medicare change applying to benefit months after enactment and the disability change applying to applications filed after enactment. The bill does not create new funding or new program structures.
