More help for school meals for families

For the fiscal year starting July 1, 2025, the state adds $8.1 million from the State Education Fund and $35.6 million to the Healthy School Meals for All Program Fund. The money pays school meal reimbursements so more students can eat at no cost. Families with school-age children see lower food costs.

Broad K-12 funding for 2025-26

For the fiscal year starting July 1, 2025, the state funds many K–12 services. The Department of Education receives money for administration, IT, statewide tests, district finance, nutrition, school construction, and educator programs. Funds come from the General Fund, the State Education Fund, the State Public School Fund, cash funds, reappropriated funds, and federal funds. Students, families, and educators benefit through the services these dollars support.

More staff for school improvement

Beginning in 2025–26, the law gives $559,187 from the General Fund to the Division of School Quality and Support. The funding supports accountability and improvement planning and about 3.4 full-time positions. If up to $485,910 is unspent by July 1, 2026, it carries into 2026–27 for the same work.
