New rules for building plan notices

Louisiana’s state fire marshal must send a letter when submitted building plans appear not to meet applicable laws, rules, or codes. The letter must list requirements to meet before plans can be stamped “Reviewed” and construction, renovation, or remodeling can begin. But the marshal cannot provide this list for plans submitted in violation of R.S. 37:155(A)(4) or R.S. 37:701(I).
