Louisiana doula registration gets state support

Louisiana's doula board consults the health department on application criteria and sets registration guidelines for doulas seeking insurance reimbursement. The board reviews applications and grants registration; health department staff help process applications and send notices after board decisions. Board members receive no salary but can get travel costs reimbursed with health secretary approval under Division of Administration travel rules. Registration is not required to practice as a doula. These changes do not add insurance coverage or household payments.
