Foster youth get priority for vehicles

Beginning July 1, 2026, eligible participants in Louisiana's extended foster care program get first priority to acquire surplus state vehicles. The vehicles must be approved for disposal. The law does not guarantee a vehicle or provide one for free.

Schools get priority for surplus computers

Beginning July 1, 2026, Louisiana public elementary and secondary schools get first priority to acquire surplus state computer equipment. Community and technical colleges managed by the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges also qualify. The equipment must be approved for disposal. The law provides no new funding.
