Optional traffic-stop envelopes for drivers with disabilities

The law lets Louisiana's Office of Motor Vehicles create special envelopes for drivers with disabilities. Eligible drivers include those with mental, physical, or developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Drivers, their parents, or their legal guardians must provide the proof required by R.S. 32:403.3(C). The envelopes may include tips to help officers recognize and communicate with drivers with disabilities during traffic stops. The law allows this program but does not require the office to create it.
