Renewable energy providers face new recycling rules

Beginning January 1, 2027, required closure plans for Louisiana renewable energy facilities must include recycling parts when practical. Recycling must follow Louisiana environmental rules for universal wastes, recyclable materials, and recycling and waste reduction. Parts that require another disposal method under Subtitle II of Title 30 are exempt. The act’s heading states that renewable energy providers pay recycling and closure costs. The law does not provide a direct household payment or benefit.
