Higher parcel fee cap for Lakeview owners

The law lets New Orleans charge up to $250 per parcel yearly in the Lakeview Crime Prevention District. Property owners' fees do not rise automatically. The district board must adopt a resolution setting the new fee and formally request an election by resolution. A majority of registered district voters voting on the fee must approve it. The election must follow the Louisiana Election Code.
