Easier pharmacy tech training for students

Beginning November 1, 2025, pharmacy technician applicants who are 17 or older and enrolled in an Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education youth apprenticeship or pharmacy technician training program can complete Phase II training inside a pharmacy without being an employee. Their training program must be approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy at the start and each year. The permit is only for education for students in a Board‑approved program. The apprenticeship and CareerTech training programs must carry liability insurance that covers students anywhere they train in a pharmacy.
