Tougher conflict and donation rules for judicial commission

Beginning November 1, 2025, Judicial Nominating Commission members cannot take part in decisions on applicants who are related to them within the third degree. If a member still takes part, they are removed at once and can never serve again. Within 10 days after getting the final list of applicants, each member must disclose the date and amount of any donation they gave to any applicant’s judicial campaign. The courts’ Administrative Director sets the form. The Commission must post these reports online until the seat is filled.

Bar members' eligibility tied to voter address

Beginning November 1, 2025, the address on file with the State Election Board decides where an Oklahoma Bar Association member lives for Judicial Nominating Commission eligibility. This may change who can be appointed or elected to the Commission.
