4 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 4 mixed.

Stricter ID and English rules for commercial drivers

Commercial drivers must carry a valid U.S. CDL, or a valid foreign CDL with a work visa, the physical license, and a birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or passport. Drivers must speak and read enough English to talk with the public, read signs, answer officials, and fill out records. Carriers pay $3,000 per violation, and drivers are barred from driving until compliant; drivers can face up to $1,000 in fines and up to 90 days in jail, plus an extra $1,000 for language violations. Non-domiciled workers can get an Oklahoma commercial permit or license that expires with the visa if they meet testing rules. If payment or a compliant driver is not provided within 12 hours, cargo may be transferred as the law allows.

License labels for sex offenders and restricted drivers

The Department of Corrections can require 'Sex Offender' on licenses and IDs for aggravated or habitual registrants. You must surrender your current card within 180 days; if you do not, it is canceled for one year, and using it brings a $25–$200 misdemeanor fine. If an ignition interlock is ordered, your license says 'Interlock Required' until the order ends. If you are granted modified driving privileges, your Class D license is marked as a modified license. When the DOC label is no longer required, you can get a card without it.

Easier farm CDL with limits

Oklahoma offers a restricted commercial license for farm-related work. You must be 18 or older, have been licensed at least one year, and if you have over two years’ experience, keep a defined good driving record for the last two years. The license skips CDL knowledge and skills tests but only allows Class B or C vehicles within 150 miles and for limited days set by federal rules. You may haul diesel up to 1,000 gallons, liquid fertilizer up to 3,000 gallons, and solid fertilizer not mixed with organics. You must state this use when you apply.

New rules for Oklahoma licenses and IDs

Driver licenses and state IDs must show your unique number, name, signature, birth date, sex, residence address (with limited federal exceptions), and issue and expiration dates. They include a color, front-facing photo; commercial learner permits do not. Cards issued on or after March 1, 2004 also show your county, and if you hold both a license and an ID, the details must match. If your card’s number is someone else’s Social Security number, the state gives you a free replacement with a new ID. Service Oklahoma may issue a temporary permit or ID while your permanent card is made; you must carry it and it ends when the permanent card is issued or refused for good cause. You may not put decals or stickers on a license or ID; police can remove illegal attachments.
