Beginning November 1, 2025, a first conviction can bring a $100 to $1,000 fine, 10 to 30 days in county jail, or both. A later violation suspends your privilege to hunt, kill, or trap in that refuge or WMA.
Beginning November 1, 2025, when hunting or trapping is allowed, nonresidents must schedule with the Department of Wildlife Conservation and get written authorization before using that refuge or WMA. The Wildlife Commission sets up a lottery as needed to hand out limited nonresident permits. The permit fee for nonresidents cannot be more than $100 per permit. The Commission makes the rules to run these processes.
Beginning November 1, 2025, you cannot enter any state or federal wildlife refuge or Wildlife Management Area with a dog, gun, or bow unless a law or a commission resolution allows it. The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission or the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission can, by resolution, let authorized clubs hold field trials. They can also open some refuges and WMAs for hunting or trapping by resolution. Lake Murray State Park stays a wildlife preserve and is closed to killing or trapping.
