Penalties and rules near worship services

The law makes it a crime to willfully disturb a religious meeting in Oklahoma. A first conviction is a misdemeanor: fine up to $500, up to 1 year in county jail, or both. A second or later conviction is a felony: fine up to $1,000, up to 2 years in state custody, or both. Covered acts include loud or profane speech, rude or indecent acts, unnecessary noise, shows or plays within 1 mile without a license, blocking entry or exit, racing animals or gaming within 1 mile, and obstructing a highway within 1 mile. On public ways or sidewalks within 100 feet of an entrance, you may not knowingly come within 8 feet of a person, without consent, to hand leaflets, display signs, or engage in oral protest, education, or counseling. This law takes effect immediately.
