Boards of energy and utility authorities must meet every month. The chair, or any member if the chair is absent or disabled, can call special meetings. A meeting only happens if a majority of directors are present. Actions need votes from at least a majority of eligible directors. Resolutions take effect after one reading and can pass the same day they are introduced. The board sets the time and place of meetings.
Board members can be repaid for needed travel and other costs when doing board business. They may also get a meeting attendance allowance, using the same rules as municipal electric boards. These payments count as normal operating and maintenance costs of the authority. The law adds to, and does not override, expense rules for boards created by private acts. It applies there only to the extent those boards choose.
