Laser pointing at vehicle operators illegal

The law makes it a crime to knowingly point a laser or laser device at a person operating a car, boat, airplane, or other motor vehicle. Doing so is a Class B misdemeanor. Beginning July 1, 2025, the rule applies to acts on or after that date. This aims to protect drivers, pilots, boaters, and the traveling public from dangerous laser light.
