Beginning July 1, 2025, if you own a Tennessee-licensed medical laboratory, your collection stations do not need a separate license. This applies even if specimens are sent elsewhere. You must keep ownership and oversight of the stations. You must keep records and give the board all relevant, non-privileged records during a complaint investigation.
Beginning July 1, 2025, anyone who runs a collection station but is not the owner of a Tennessee-licensed medical lab must get a board license. All collection stations must follow the board's rules to operate. This adds licensing and compliance duties for those operators.
