Beginning July 1, 2025, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency can hire private businesses to run and maintain its shooting ranges. Eligible operators and maintenance firms can bid for contracts. This creates new contract opportunities to manage day-to-day range operations.
Beginning July 1, 2025, the Fish and Wildlife Commission can set rules for state-run shooting ranges. It can also charge fees for public use of those ranges. Money from those fees goes into the Wildlife Resources Fund. If you use an agency range, a user fee may apply and you must follow new rules on safety, hours, and access.
