Auction operators at certain large venues do not need a motor vehicle dealer license for some sales. The vehicles must be previously titled antique cars at least 25 years old, or unique motor vehicles. The auction must be at a venue with at least 20,000 permanent seats in a county with a 2020 census population between 147,700 and 147,800 (or the same range in a later census). The operator can hold no more than one Tennessee auction per year and must offer 400–2,000 vehicles. The operator must have at least $25,000,000 in net worth. This exemption ends June 30, 2027, unless extended. The law takes effect upon becoming law.
