Beginning July 1, 2025, nuclear energy production facilities are included in Tennessee’s energy list under tax law. The law also treats machinery, parts, fluids, repair parts, and taxable install or repair labor used mainly to enrich, deconvert, or convert uranium as covered equipment. It covers gaseous diffusion and centrifuge technology and applies no matter who owns the uranium or the contract type, including enrichment or conversion contracts, cost‑plus, toll, or fee deals. Owners and service providers should review sales and use tax treatment for this equipment and work.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Tennessee removes one subdivision from its sales and use tax law. The rule in that paragraph no longer applies. Businesses that were subject to it should update their billing and filings.
