Tennessee creates a fund to cut borrowing costs for local governments in counties under the Hurricane Helene federal disaster declaration. The fund pays loan charges and, for up to three years, interest on money borrowed for eligible Helene recovery costs. Interest covered is capped at the lower of 5% or the prime rate. Covered loan charges include origination, application, appraisal, payment processing, and brokerage fees. Help is only for those disaster-declared counties.
