Who can serve as City Judge

The City Judge must be a practicing attorney in good standing, admitted in Tennessee. Candidates must have lived in Tullahoma and kept their domicile there for one year before the election. The judge’s duties and powers follow the Tullahoma city code and ordinances.

City board sets judge’s pay

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen sets the City Judge’s pay by ordinance. Pay can change over time when the board passes a new city law.

Tullahoma City Judge elections and terms

The current City Judge’s term now runs until the first Thursday in August 2026. Starting in 2026, voters pick the judge during the city’s August election in even-numbered years. The judge serves an eight-year term, with elections every eight years. All qualified Tullahoma voters cast ballots citywide for this office.
