Roane County vote to restore County Mayor title

The law repeals a 2007 local act for Roane County that renamed the chief executive to County Executive. It restores the title to County Mayor, which is the title under state general law. It has no effect unless Roane County’s legislative body approves it by a two-thirds (2/3) vote. The presiding officer must proclaim the result and certify it to the secretary of state. The act is effective now only to allow the local vote; all other parts take effect after the county approves.
